PLEASED THAT COURT RULING WAS UPHELD

THIS IS in response to your March 15 article on the two firemen, Capt. Robert Cassell and Harvey Helm, and the pedestrian Brenda Downs.

We were extremely pleased to see that Judge Jack Coulter's ruling was upheld in the Supreme Court of Virginia. These two brave men were fullfilling their obligations as firemen from the time they received the emergency call to the time they were so senselessly run down.

The insurance company is grasping at straws to offer the lame excuse that they aren't liable because the fire truck wasn't in use at the time. The firemen drove the truck there, they were on duty, and they would have driven the truck back to the station.
