BOON, MAUDE A.\ Maude Annie Boon, age 93, of the Lutheran Home, died Tuesday, April 17, 1990. She was born in Monroe County, West Virginia, on July 29, 1896, daughter of John U. and Annie H. Brown. She was a lifelong member of West End United Methodist Church and a member of the Quilter & Padmakers Group. Mrs. Boon was predeceased by her husband, Charles Wesley Boon, Roanoke, and a son, Charles Edwin Boon, Tallahassee, Fla. Surviving are her son and his wife, John Edward and Barbara Boon, Burlington, N.C.; three daughters and their husbands, Mildred and Roger A. Lorden, Roanoke; Mary Lou and Rev. Richard B. Smith, Grafton; and Ann and William M. Helm, Salem. Also, her grandchildren, Charles A. Boon, Dr. Sandra E. Boon, FCCS William H. Boon, Ronald R. Lorden, Margaret L. Edwards, Jennie Lou Laurent, R. Randolph Smith, Amy Jo Fleming, Robert E. Boon, Catherine B. Shatterly, Douglas B. Boon, Dan B. Boon, Ann Marie H. Cook, Shirley Lynne H. Hunter, Meredith L. Helm; 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother and his wife, Kenneth and Hazel Brown, Union, W. Va.; and her sister-in-law, Winnie L. Brown, Salem. Funeral service will be held at West End United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 21, 1990, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Phillip E. Sims officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Burial Park. Those wishing to make memorials should give consideration to the Roanoke City Rescue Mission and the Program for Progress of West End United Methodist Church. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel after 9:00 a.m. Friday where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday.
