Embattled sports agent Bruce Allen lashed out at those he said had encouraged the FBI to investigate him and threatened Wednesday to file a defamation suit after the NFL draft, which begins Sunday.

Meanwhile, an FBI agent in Phoenix, Ariz., confirmed that the bureau was investigating Allen and a former associate.

He declined to say how long the FBI had been on the case, which involves allegations that Allen and Bob Owens signed college football players before their eligibility expired.

"After today, I'm not going to talk about it until after the draft. I've got too much work to do," said Allen, the son of former NFL coach George Allen.
