WILMINGTON HIRES RICHMOND GRADUATE

Kevin Eastman, a 1976 Richmond graduate who also was an assistant coach for the Spiders, has been named head basketball coach at North Carolina-Wilmington.

Eastman, who also was an assistant at Colorado State and Virginia Commonwealth, succeeds Robert McPherson, who resigned in mid-February. The Seahawks, playing in the Colonial Athletic Association, finished 8-20 last season.
