IN SCHOOL
LARRY BROWN has been awarded a $10,000 yearly scholarship from the honors
program in the School of Communications at Howard University, Washington, D.C.
Brown also has been honored nationally and nominated by his band director as a
U.S. National Band Award winner. He is listed in Who's Who Among American High
School Students, 1988-89, and among the Outstanding High School Students of
America. He is the president of the William Fleming High School Students of
City School in the Roanoke Valley. Brown, son of Frances and Robert Brown of
Roanoke, is a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church.
