CAMPAIGN TO PUBLICIZE NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS

The Voluntary Action Center of the Council of Community Services is sponsoring a public awareness campaign to emphasize the need for volunteers in the Roanoke Valley.

The goal of the Metro 500 Project is to recruit 500 new volunteers to donate their time and talent to Roanoke Valley agencies. Those wishing to volunteer are asked to call 985-0131 to find out about such opportunities in the area.

During National Volunteer Week, Sunday through April 28, the media will provide updates on the project's progress.
