OBIT-ALLISON, T.

ALLISONIA - Thornton Allison, age 86, of Allisonia, Va., died Thursday morning in the Radford Community Hospital, Radford. He was born May 8, 1906, in Allisonia, he was the son of the late Henry Burton (H.B.) and Margaret Worrell Allison. He was a retired security guard for Klotman Mills, Dublin. He was also a retired bus driver for the Pulaski County Schools. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Brabston and four brothers, Elmer Allison, Gene Allison, Burton Allison, and Roby Allison. Surviving are his wife, Macie Eva Gunter Allison; two daughters, Mrs. James (Martha) Quesenberry, Hillsville; Mrs. Junior (Mildred) Turman, Dugspur, Va.; four sons, Donnie Allison, Pulaski; Carl Allison, Pulaski; Harold Allison, Allisonia; and Gilmer Allison, Hillsville; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Turman, Allisonia. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. Howard A. (Jiggs) Bruce officiating. Interment will follow in the Allison Family Cemetery, Allisonia. Visiting will be anytime Friday with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the Bower Funeral Chapel. Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski, is handling the arrangements.
