VICTIMS' RIGHTS WEEK OBSERVANCES

Next week is National Victim's Rights Week. New River Community Sentencing and other organizations are planning activities and events to promote awareness of victims' rights.

On Thursday, there will be an open house at the Pulaski Town Library, Third Street, 2:30-4:30 p.m. The open house will be offered by the new Pulaski County Victim Assistance Project and information about the project will be available.

An information table, staffed by volunteers from the Women's Resource Center and New River Community Sentencing, will be set up in Wal-Mart in Christiansburg April 28, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Materials concerning Victim-Witness Assistance Projects in Montgomery and Pulaski counties will be available.

New River Community Sentencing offers assistance to victims of crime. Montgomery County residents may call Bill Demere and residents of Pulaski, Floyd and Giles counties may call Amie Pilalas-Copus at 382-0802.

Victims of domestic violence or sexual assault may call Debbie Rotenberry at the Women's Resource Center, 639-1123.
