NAMES & CHANGES

JAMIE PENCE has been promoted to district manager for Mitchell's Formal Wear. She is based in Roanoke and is responsible for stores in Western Virginia and Northern Virginia. Pence joined Mitchell's in 1985 as a sales associate in the Lynchburg store. She became a manager trainee in 1987 and manager of the Roanoke store later that year. In 1989 Pence was named Store Manager of the Year for Virginia.

\ STEVEN V. AKERS has been promoted to senior vice president at Crestar Bank. He is manager of the real estate finance division for the bank's western region. Akers joined Crestar in 1981. Janice S. Augustine has been promoted to vice president. She joined the bank in 1983 and serves as a portfolio manager for its investment subsidiary, Capitoline Investment Services. William W. Bloxom has joined Crestar as vice president and employee benefits services account manager.

\ RONALD J. MACK has been named superintendent of the Harry S. Truman National Historic Site in Independence, Mo. Mack is currently superintendent of the Booker T. Washington National Monument in Hardy. He joined the park service in 1973 as a park technician at the Washington Monument.

\ GARY S. FISHER has been promoted to vice president of Dominion Leasing Corp., an affiliate of Dominion Bankshares Corp. Fisher is a regional sales manager for the Roanoke sales office. He is responsible for sales development throughout Western Virginia. Prior to joining Dominion in 1988, Fisher was with CIT Group/Equipment Financing in New Jersey.

\ KAREN W. RAMSEY has been named human resources manager for Cox Ramsey Cable, Roanoke. She will be responsible for customer service training. Barbara B. Robertson has been promoted to customer service manager. She has been with Cox for eight years. Thomas J. Glatzmayer has been named advertising sales manager. He was previously with Cox Cable in New Orleans.

\ THOMAS V. WELLS, director of the Stores Division at the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, has retired. He began his career with the department in 1955 as a store clerk in Martinsville. Wells was appointed director of stores in 1984. He was responsible for 241 stores throughout Virginia.
