BLAZE DAMAGES TRUCK, BUS GARAGE

A fire caused extensive damage early Sunday to a bus and tractor-trailer service center in Northeast Roanoke.

Firefighters responded to the Nuel L. Wallace Garage on 1035 McDowell Ave. N.E. about 4 a.m. Sunday.

They contained the blaze mostly to the showroom and office areas, but there also was minor damage to the bay area, fire officials said.

Damage was estimated at $150,000. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire has not been determined and was under investigation.
