OBIT CHAFIN, F.

Freda Bower Chafin, age 84, of Rt. 1, died Tuesday, April 24, 1990, in Radford Community Hospital. She was the widow of Shirley B. Chafin and is survived by two sons, Samuel L. Chafin, Blacksburg; Donald G. Chafin, Wilmington, Ohio; four sisters, Nellie Kelly, Harrisburg, Penn.; Hazel Epperly, Shawsville; Mosby Lovell, Riner; Elsie Sowers, Christiansburg; three grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday from the St. Matthew's Church conducted by the Rev. Bob McCoy and the Rev. Nancy Whiteley with burial in the St. Matthew's Cemetery. Anyone wishing to make memorial contributions is asked to consider St. Matthew's Cemetery Fund in care of Ms. Thelma Bower, 100 Cherry Lane, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. Friends may call anytime Thursday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m.
