WAKE FOREST HONORS ROANOKE'S MITCHELL

Jenny Mitchell, a former William Byrd High School standout, has been selected Wake Forest's 1989-90 female athlete of the year.

Mitchell, also a two-time All-ACC selection, was honored by a vote of the Demon Deacons' women letter winners.

The junior forward also was voted the most valuable player of the women's basketball team. - Staff report
