STABBED MAN KNOWS EARLY MORNING ATTACKER

A man was stabbed in the neck and left hand early this morning as he walked the 700 block of Hunt Avenue Northwest, police said.

William D. Swain, whose age and address were not known, told authorities that he was attacked about 2:15 a.m. by a man with a large knife.

Swain said he recognized the man as someone he had shot 10 years ago in an attempted robbery, and said that incident was the reason for the attack.

No charges have been filed, although Swain told police he plans to obtain a warrant against the man.

Swain was not seriously injured, and refused treatment.
