Velma Bolt Sutphin, age 91, widow of Sherman Sutphin, died Wednesday, April 25, 1990 at Eldercare Nursing Home, Hillsville. Surviving are three daughters, Nisten Alderman, Georgia Kemp, both of Willis; Mary Susan Bolt, Prince Frederick, Md.; one son, Billy Lee Sutphin, Prince Frederick, Md.; one brother, Dellas Bolt, Willis; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; six stepgreat-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd with Elder Norman Bowman, Rev. Basil Burcham, and Rev. Nathan Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in the Willis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the Maberry Funeral Home.
