Three seats are open on the Planning Commission, which advises the Board of Supervisors on planning issues and guides the county's long-range growth.
Four-year terms for Dean Allen and Harry Neumann are expiring. Larry Linkous, who was appointed last year, has resigned, saying he could not devote the necessary time to the commission.
The commission meets once a month and also holds monthly joint hearings with the supervisors.
The zoning board meets as needed to hear appeals of decisions made by the zoning administrator.
The applicant for the seat, now held by Frank Ashley, must live in the Prices Fork magisterial district. Members serve five-year terms.
Members of the Human Services Commission meet quarterly to share information about and support for human service groups. Appointment is for three years.
Terms for Mary Fessler, Virginia Kennedy and the Rev. Vernon Miller expire in May.
Interested applicants are asked to submit a letter of intent to County Administrator Betty Thomas by May 21. The address is P.O. Box 806, Christiansburg, Va. 24073.
