GED TESTS PLANNED IN MAY

Individuals wishing to earn a high school equivalency certificate can take the General Education Development tests May 9 and May 11, 4:15-9 p.m. at Christiansburg High School.

Registration is at the Montgomery County Schools' Pupil Personnel office at 407 Wilson St. in Blacksburg, April 30-May, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be permanent residents of Virginia or have resided in the state 30 days before applying for test. A photo ID must be presented.

A $20 fee will be charged for the battery of five tests on social studies, reading skills, science, math and writing skills. Each re-test is $4. Should an applicant fail to achieve a passing score on one or more of the tests, a re-test may be given but a 60-day waiting period is required between tests.
