FRANKLIN SCHOOL BOARD TAKING NOMINATIONS

The Franklin County School Board Selection Commission will meet May 8 to receive nominations for the Blackwater and Rocky Mount representatives on the county's School Board.

The representatives will serve four-year terms beginning July 1.

Kathleen Holt, the current Rocky Mount representative, is seeking reappointment, but Blackwater representative Linda Barnhart is stepping down after eight years of service.

Jack Garst, chairman of the selection panel, said all nominees or their representative must attend the May 8 meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. at the School Board office.

The panel will announce the appointments at a 10 a.m. meeting May 25, Garst said.

For additional information, Garst can be reached at P.O. Box 82, Boones Mill 24065. His phone number is 334-5606.
