WILDER APPOINTS DUBLIN DENTIST

A Dublin dentist who ran unsuccessfully last year for the 12th District seat in the Virginia House of Delegates has been appointed to the state Board of Medical Assistance Services by Gov. Douglas Wilder.

A. Carole Pratt, a graduate of Virginia Tech and the Medical College of Virginia's School of Dentistry, operates a private dental practice in Dublin and is a member and former chairman of the state Board of Health.

She also is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association and the American Association of Women Dentists.

She will serve a four-year term on the Board of Medical Assistance Services, which works to ensure that the poor have access to health care.
