POULTRY FESTIVAL SET FOR MAY 16-19 IN HARRISONBURG

The Virginia Poultry Festival, one of the largest poultry celebrations in the country, is set for May 16-19.

This year's festival will again feature the Miss Virginia Poultry Festival scholarship pageant, a Miss Virginia preliminary event, set for Saturday, April 28, 7:30 p.m. at Montevideo Middle School.

Men and women's softball tournaments will again be held this year, May 11-13. For further information, call Billy Blaine, Rocco Turkeys, Dayton, (703) 879-2521.

Saturday, May 19, activities begin at 8 a.m. with a five-kilometer run. The Grand Poultry Festival Parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the monument on South Main Street.

Festival Week will close on Saturday evening, May 19, with the Virginia Poultry Convention and Growers' Night, to begin at 6 at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds, south of Harrisonburg.
