DIABETES FOUNDATION SCHEDULES WALK-A-THON

The Roanoke Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation will hold its second walk-a-thon for diabetes research May 20.

Registration for the 10K (6.2 mile) walk will begin at 11 a.m. in Market Square, downtown Roanoke. The walk begins at 1 p.m. and will follow a marked route with refreshments and rest stops along the way.

Walkers may preregister with pledged sponsors by calling the Roanoke JDF office at 989-6627. Walkers also will be welcome with any size contribution and may register on the day of the event.

All walkers will receive a T-shirt and certificate of participation. For more information, call Susan Wiley at 387-0649.
