\ DUBLIN - Richard Victor Underwood, age 72, of the Little Creek Community, died Thursday at his home. He was born at Poplar Hill on June 23, 1917 and was the son of the late, Charles Thomas and Lucy Pearl Davis Underwood. He was a member of the Sassin United Methodist Church and was a retired employee of the Hoechst-Celanese Corp., Narrows. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Georgia Blankenship Underwood; two brothers, Paul Daley Underwood, Vienna; Charles Clifford Underwood, Berkley Heights, N.J.; four sisters, Mrs. Opal Deck, Dublin; Mrs. Alva Suttle, Dublin; Mrs. Myrtle Rigmey, Roanoke; Mrs. Vivian Waldron, Narrows. Funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Betty Hudson and Rev. Lawrence Nuckolls officiating. Burial will be in the Hunter Cemetery at Alum Spring. Friends may call anytime Friday at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
