LEE LEADS RADFORD TEAM TO AAU WIN

Former George Wythe High School star Jamie Lee, who will play at VMI next year, scored 33 points Thursday to lead the Radford 19-and-under AAU team to a 102-96 win over the Mountain Empire All-Stars in the Virginia AAU championships.

In other 19-and-under games at Virginia Tech, Trevis Law scored 40 points to lead the Western Stars past the Roanoke Hawks 126-124, and Charlottesville-Albemarle beat Roanoke Star City 124-123.

In the 16-and-under division, the New River Valley All-Stars beat the Roanoke Bulls 62-61; the Pulaski County Rockets beat the Western Stars 82-45; Franklin County topped the Staunton Hoyas 71-63; Charlottesville Caaby outscored the Waynesboro Basketball Club 85-78; and the Larry Bell Basketball Club defeated Spotsylvania 71-66. - Staff report
