MAN GUILTY IN EXTORTION OF MISSING GIRL'S FAMILY

A Michigan man accused of conspiring to extort money from the family of a missing 5-year-old girl was found guilty of all charges Thursday.

U.S. District Judge Albert V. Bryan set June 27 for the sentencing of Anthony Girard McCray, 24, of Detroit, on charges of conspiracy, interstate communication, interstate extortion, receipt of ransom money and obstructing commerce by threat of violence.

McCray was charged in February with conspiring to extort $75,000 from the mother of Melissa Brannen, who disappeared Dec. 5 from an apartment complex holiday party in Lorton.
