COUNCIL ELECTION AND SCHOOL BOARD HISTORY

JUST IN CASE the public's memory has dimmed a little since last year when I was not reappointed to the Roanoke City School Board, I wanted to remind everyone that it was Jim Trout and Beverly Fitzpatrick who turned against me.

In doing so, they voted against keeping me as an independent watchdog on Frank Tota and the city school system. Shortly after then, the majority on the School Board gave Tota that lucrative seven-year consultant contract, all of which amounted to several hundred thousand dollars. (Tota got a better deal than Jim Valvano at North Carolina State!)

For these reasons, I am encouraging all my friends to vote for that really splendid team of Jimmy Harvey, Howard Musser and Bill White, truly a team for all of us people. DON BARTOL ROANOKE
