HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER INJURES ROANOKE MAN

A pedestrian was injured Saturday afternoon by a hit-and-run driver on the 400 block Harrison Avenue in Northwest Roanoke.

Hal Cabbler, 30, of Roanoke was struck by a small pickup truck with no cargo bed as he was crossing the street, police said.

The truck then backed over his left leg and ran over the leg again before fleeing the scene west on Harrison Avenue, witnesses told police.

Cabbler was taken to Community Hospital where he was treated Saturday and released. Police said an investigation is continuing.
