OBIT JORDAN, P.

Penn Oakey Jordan, age 55, of Dublin Rd., Pulaski, died Sunday morning in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born in Roanoke, Va., February 21, 1935, and was the daughter of the late, Oran Davis Oakey, Jr. and Charleen Moir Oakey. She attended Sullins College and finished her college education at Madison College in Harrisonburg, Va. where she graduated with a B.A. Degree in Elementary Education. She taught the second grade at West End Elementary School in Roanoke and taught the second grade at Jefferson Elementary in Pulaski. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she taught bible classes to the Youth Club. She was a member of the Child Study Club, the DAR, and worked on many projects at the Fine Arts Center where she was a Docent member. Surviving are her husband, Glenn T. Jordan, III of Pulaski; two daughters, Charleen Anderson Jordan of Los Angeles, Calif.; Isabella Penn Jordan of Pulaski; one son, Glenn T. Jordan, IV of Pulaski; one brother, Charles Moir Oakey of Roanoke. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. from the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Richard Bethune officiating. Visiting will be Tuesday at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home.
