FIELD WORKER REPLACES UMW UNION PRESIDENT

Donnie Lowe, a field worker for the United Mine Workers union, will succeed Jackie Stump as president of UMW District 28 in Southwest Virginia.

The executive board for the district elected Lowe Monday to fill the remaining 12 months of Stump's term, which came open when Stump was elected to the House of Delegates.

For the past three years, Lowe has been employed as a UMW field worker at the John L. Lewis Building in Oakwood.
