Mrs. Mary Pleasant Younger fought a good fight and finished her course on Saturday when she died in a Roanoke hospital. She was the widow of the late Moses Younger, Sr. A loyal member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church, she is sadly moaned by many who will miss her quiet manner and lovely smile. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Lenora Roach of Boston, Mass.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. Moses Jr. and Mrs. Edna Younger, Lawnside, N. J.; Mr. Reginald and Mrs. Joyce Younger of San Francisco, Calif.; sister, Mrs. Sarah Jackson of Brooklyn, N. Y.; sister and brother-in-law, Mrs. Amanda and Mr. Richard Smith of St. Albans, N.Y.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, the Rev. Thomas and Mrs. Blanche Pleasant, Mr. Raymond and Mrs. Minnie Sue Pleasant; devoted niece, Ms. Greta Evans; sister-in-law, Mrs. Lorraine Pleasant; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. Douglas and Mrs. Janice Younger, all of Roanoke; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lillie Mae Robertson, Mrs. Lena Younger, Mrs. Hilda Younger, all of Chatham, Va.; Mrs. Essie Fitzgerald of Danville; other nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday 1:00 p.m. in the Jerusalem Baptist Church. Dr. J. Eugene Young officiating. Burial in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday night at Fizer Funeral Home from 7:00 to 8:00. The family and friends will meet at Fizer Funeral Home for Thursday's services.
