PITTSTON SUBSIDIARY BUYS BRINK'S OF U.K.

The Pittston Co. said Monday that its subsidiary, Brink's Inc., has completed the purchase of its main European affiliate, Brink's-MAT Ltd. of the United Kingdom. Brink's already owned 35 percent of the company and acquired the rest from MAT Group Ltd., its previous partner.

Brink's-MAT conducts armored-car and air courier operations in Britain and owns interests in affiliates in Belgium, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Ireland, Bahrain and Hong Kong. Combined annual revenues of U.K. operations and affiliates is $65 million. - Staff report
