WRITE-IN H.D. CARTER GOSHEN-MAYOR WINNER

H.D. Carter received 61 votes for mayor here Tuesday, topping a field of six write-in candidates, according to unofficial election results.

Other write-in candidates for the mayor's post were Wyatt Kennedy, one vote; Billy Edwards, six votes; Charles Whiteside, one vote; Morris Warner, two votes; and Elgin Deering, two votes; according to unofficial returns.

Town Council candidates Stanley Paxton, John Rorer and Isaiah Walker all were elected over a number of write-in candidates for the three available council seats - Paxton with 66 votes, Rorer with 62 votes and Walker with 65 votes, according to the early tally.
