NEW CASTLE ELECTS 7

Karen Givens Orr, a third generation of the same family, was elected to New Castle Town Council in Tuesday's municipal elections to uphold a family tradition.

Both her father, William Givens, and her grandfather, Hampton Givens, have served on council.

Also in the election Thomas Zimmerman was returned as mayor with 47 votes. He was unopposed but George P. Todd, an outgoing council member, received one write-in vote for mayor.

Also in the election Patrick J. Huffman and Gertrude R. Lowery were re-elected and Robert O. Lee, Meredith Boone and Joseph S. Huffman were elected.
