2 MAYORS RE-ELECTED IN TOWNS IN BOTETOURT

In Fincastle, Councilman Cromer Hedrick was elected mayor with 72 votes. The following were elected council members to fill the eight seats available, with their vote total:

Malanie Jones, 70 votes; Helen Morris, 67; Virginia Cronise, 65; R.D. Henderson, 64; Theresa Tucker, 62; John Shaw, 57; Peggy Honeycutt Connell, 55; Gray Bolton, 54. Tucker and Connell were the only winners who were not incumbents.

In Buchanan, J. Stull Carson was elected to his his fifth term as mayor with 118 votes. Six seats on the Town Council were up for re-election.

Incumbents C.D. Barker, with 102 votes; Lottie Burks, 115; Curtis Beacon, 88; Mary McCraw, 104; and Lois Robert, 99, were re-elected. Marvin Williams received 115 votes and was the only person who was not an incumbent who won election.

In Troutville, Jewell Tindell was re-elected mayor with 45 votes. The six council seats were filled by incumbents Gaynelle Cronk, 42 votes; Robert Harris, 45; William Rader, 42; Bruce Switzer, 46; Dr. Gary Camp, 33; and write-in candidate Pam Woods with 26 votes.
