ARTS COMMISSION SETS APPLICATION DEADLINE

The Virginia Commission for the Arts has set 5 p.m. May 15 as the application deadline for artists interested in community college residencies for the 1990-91 school year. Disciplines for the residencies are visual arts, music and solo dance.

Acceptance to the roster does not guarantee selection for a residency. Seven artists and seven community colleges participated in the program in 1989-90. An artist is not eligible for a residency in an institution that serves his or her home community.

For application, guidelines and information on required supporting materials, contact Sharon Wilson, artists-in-residence coordinator, Virginia Commission for the Arts, James Monroe Building, 17th Floor, 101 N. 14th St., Richmond 23219-3683 or call 804-225-3132.

The Virginia Commission for the Arts supports the arts through funding from the Virginia General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.
