BOLLING, ERNEST C., SR.

Ernest Coleman Bolling, Sr., age 65, of 1441 Carlos Dr., N.E., died Wednesday, May 2, 1990, in a local hospital. He was an active member of Patterson Memorial Grace Brethren Church for 34 years. He was founder and chief executive officer of Structural Steel Co., Inc., which began in 1956. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post #248. He as a member of the Masonic Lodge in Danville, Va. He was predeceased by his father, Raleigh S. Bolling; one brother, Edwin Bolling; one son, Ernest C. (Sonny) Bolling, Jr.; one sister, Elna Pendleton. He is survived by his wife, Pauline R. Bolling; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim S. and Beth T. Bolling, Roanoke; his mother, Mrs. Hattie F. Bolling, Danville; two grandchildren, Sheri L. and Melisa A. Bolling, both of Roanoke; two sisters, Jean Astin, Williamsport, Pa.; Myrtle Clapp, Danville. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 4, with the Rev. Don Eshelman and the Rev. Ron E. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 9 East Church Ave., Roanoke, Va. 24011; or to the American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Rd., S.W., Roanoke, Va. 24014. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel after 12:00 noon Thursday. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday.
