The Southwest Virginia Enterprise in Wytheville was a first-place medallion winner in the annual U.S. Senate Productivity Awards for Virginia, held in Alexandria last week. The Radford school system was a finalist and certificates of merit went to ITT Electro-Optical Products Division in Roanoke County and Hubbell Lighting Division in Christiansburg.

\ Piedmont Aviation Services Inc. is planning a 50th anniversary celebration May 24 at its headquarters at Smith-Reynolds Airport at Winston-Salem. The USAir subsidiary, including a general aviation operation in Roanoke, will display planes and several company officials will speak.

\ Greyhound and its striking drivers agreed Wednesday to reopen contract talks and put violence in the two-month-old walkout "behind us." The talks, halted since mid-March, will resume Saturday in Washington, said Bernard E. DeLury, director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.
