BLACKSBURG CABLE SETS PRICE INCREASE JUNE 1

Blacksburg Cable is raising the cost of its basic service to $16.95 per month, an increase of $1.45, effective June 1.

The cable company cited a 22 percent increase in the cost of satellite-delivered programming as the main reason for the increase.

The cost of premium services will remain at $10.45 each per month.

It is the company's second rate increase in about a year on the basic package. The last increase was in June 1989.
