\ PULASKI - Ward Palmer Reese, age 69, of 1109 Brookfield Ave., Pulaski, died Wednesday, May 2, 1990, in the Wytheville Community Hospital, Wytheville. Born March 24, 1921, in Pulaski, Va., he was the son of the late George Palmer Reese and Lillie Robert Mills Reese. He was a member of the Pulaski Presbyterian Church in America in Pulaski. He was a retired employee for the Radford Army Ammunition Plant, Radford, with 28 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Georgia Thelma Roop Ayers Reese; one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis Ann and Alban Edsel Shumate, Radford; granddaughter, Miss Rebecca Ann Shumate, Roanoke; two grandsons, Mark Alban Shumate and John Lewis Shumate, both of Radford; stepdaughter, Mrs. John (Betty June) Jennings, Independence; stepson, Donald S. (Don) Ayers, Chesterton, Ind.; eight stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Carl (Fayetta) Anderson, Pulaski; Mrs. Clarence (Elizabeth) Cook, Pulaski; Mrs. Dewey (Ella Lee) Craig, Richmond; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. Don Broadwater officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be anytime Friday with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Pulaski Presbyterian Church in America Building Fund, 975 Memorial Dr., Pulaski, Va. 24301. Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski, is handling the arrangements.
