DAVID RAPPAPORT, DWARF ACTOR, DEAD

Actor David Rappaport, a dwarf who appeared as an attorney defending little people on TV's "L.A. Law," apparently shot himself to death two months after a previous attempt. He was 38.

The 3-foot-11 actor's body was found Wednesday night in shrubbery at a San Fernando Valley park, said Detective James Edwards.

"The investigation hasn't been completed, but it appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound," coroner's office spokesman Bob Dambacher said Thursday.

Rappaport suffered a gunshot wound in the chest. A .38-caliber pistol was found. No suicide note was located, but his manager said the actor had been tormented by depression for months.
