Robert S. Hayes, age 66, of Roanoke, died Saturday, May 5, 1990, in a local hospital. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and is survived by his wife, Frances Hayes; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Pete Winters of Roanoke; stepdaughter, Phyllis McBride, Roanoke; three stepsons, Buford Deisher of Columbia, S.C.; Ray Deisher and Hubert Deisher, Jr., both of Roanoke; 14 stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Hayes of Roanoke; four sisters, Irene Horton and Ada Bobbitt, both of Roanoke; Georgia Crigger of Glen Burny, Md.; Vernie Daff, Linthicum, Md. Funeral services will be from Oakey's North Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 7, 1990, with the Rev. Carter Sloan and the Rev. Jeff Gardner officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Oakey's North Chapel.
