Donald Ray (Skip) Cox, age 37, of Vinton, died Friday in a local hospital. He was an employee of the Overhead Door Company of Roanoke. Surviving are his wife Sharon McGavock Cox; three sons, Donald Ray Cox, Jr., William Russell Cox and Jeremy Ray McGavock, all of Vinton; three sisters, Patricia Ann Poff of Corona, Calif.; Annie Bowen and Carolyn Peters, both of Roanoke; four brothers, Ronald Cox, Sr., and Barry Cox, both of Roanoke; James Cox, Sr., Vinton; and Richard Cox of Roanoke. Funeral services will be from Oakey's Vinton Chapel 1:00 p.m. Monday with interment in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Vinton Chapel from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
