Mrs. Eunice Ferguson Proffit, age 70, of Roanoke died Monday, May 7, 1990. She was a retired registered nurse of Lewis-Gale Hospital. Surviving are her husband, Melvin F. (Bub) Proffit; daughter, Donna P. Vaughn, of Eagle Rock; son, Paul F. Proffit, of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, Ehren, Tyler, Heather, Stephanie Vaughn, of Eagle Rock; Michael, Summer, Alex Proffit; two sisters, Janice Dye, Buchanan; Myra Boyer, of Charleston, S.C.; brother, Elwood Ferguson, of Buchanan; also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 3:00 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Stephen L. Dye officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
