MAN WITH SHOTGUN ROBS FOOD STORE

A man armed with a sawed-off shotgun took an undetermined amount of money from a Northeast Roanoke convenience store Monday night.

Police said today that a man entered the Quick-ette Food Mart at 3509 Plantation Road about 10:40 p.m. and inquired about cigarette rolling papers.

He left and returned about five minutes later, this time carrying a shotgun. After demanding money from two clerks, the robber was last seen walking away from the store.
