TEACHER FINDS PISTOL ON LYNCHBURG STUDENT

A 17-year-old senior at E.C. Glass High School has been suspended from school for carrying an unloaded pistol into class.

Teacher Hank Yeatman, who found the pistol on the student Friday during his photography class, said it was not a threatening situation.

Principal Roger Jones said the youth was suspended for 10 days, with a recommendation to the School Board that the suspension last the remainder of the year. Whether he can graduate after a summer school session is up to the board.
