LASER SURGERY DEMONSTRATION ALSO SCHEDULED

Radford Community Hospital will host a laser surgery open house Sunday, May 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the hospital dining room.

Demonstrations of laser technology will be offered with a presentation on the various lasers available. A discussion concerning the types of surgery for which lasers are most commonly used also is planned.

Laser surgery uses a precision light beam that heats and vaporizes tissues instantaneously without affecting surrounding body tissues.
