ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT SAYS BENEFITS PRIORITY

Maintaining a high level of benefits for government employees will be at the top of the list of concerns for Walter A. Pennington during his second two-year term as president of the Virginia Government Employees Association.

"We will also be renewing our efforts to communicate the need for state employees to belong to our organization, which will represent them before the General Assembly," said Pennington, a 36-year Virginia Department of Transportation employee re-elected last month to head the association.

Pennington is district training officer for the department's Bristol transportation district.
