ELLERBE JOINS STAFF AT VIRGINIA

The University of Virginia announced Tuesday that Brian Ellerbe will be joining the staff of new UVa basketball coach Jeff Jones.

Ellerbe, a 26-year-old Washington, D.C., native, played at Rutgers from 1981-85 and has been a full-time coach at Bowling Green, George Mason and, most recently, South Carolina.

"I think that Brian brings to our staff a lot of enthusiasm and the type of work ethic that means we aren't going to be over-worked," Jones said. "He has a lot of experience for someone that's only 26, and he has ties in an area where we need to be strong as far as our recruiting is concerned." - Staff report
