VAMC: SOME GET CARE, MANY DON'T

THE VETERANS Affairs Medical Center in Salem still provides a lot to certain patrons, but many veterans are ignored. I have been ignored three times by their representatives.

An evaluation program is needed. To give care only for service-connected ailments is to disregard things that may or may not be service-connected. Veterans of World War II, Korea and Vietnam deserve consideration.

Congressmen, presidents and all the other governmental organizations get their taxpayer's money in health care.

At age 71 my medical problem became more severe: mitral-valve prolapse, spinal arthritis, lung disease as well as high blood pressure. I pay my own bills in hospital and out. Don't know how long it will last, but hope the Lord takes me before the VA has to help.
