NEW RIVER PEOPLE IN BUSINESS

Employees of two Montgomery County real estate offices attended a certification workshop in Fredericksburg to qualify them as instructors for real estate courses to be offered through the county's adult education.

Attending were LOUISE BAKER and EDWIN FAST, both of Owens & Company, and DORIS DYER, JUDY FITHIAN and JOE JONES from Raines Real Estate. Two marketing education teachers, ELLEN AGEE from Blacksburg High and DEDE BROWN of Christiansburg High, also attended. The courses will be offered in the fall.

\ DORIS DYER, associate broker at Raines Real Estate Inc. in Blacksburg, is the new first vice president of the New River Valley Board of Realtors. Dyer first joined Raines in 1970 and left in 1977 for a job at Radford University. She returned to Raines in 1986 after earning a doctorate at Virginia Tech.

\ TONY R. HARRIS has been promoted to assistant vice president at First National Bank of Christiansburg. He was a dealer representative with the bank.

\ TONY MULLINS, former Montgomery County teacher and coach, was named Virginia's new associate of the month for January, February and March by the Mutual Life Insurance Co. of New York. Mullins, who is with the company's Roanoke office, works in the Beamer and Mullins agency in Christiansburg.
