Shirley Shelton Higgs, 54, of Star Route, Radford, died Tuesday, May 8, 1990, in a Salem hospital. She is survived by her husband, Gentril L. Higgs; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Debora Sue Higgs, Star Route, Radford; Wanda H. and Terry Phillips, Christiansburg; Patricia H. and Samuel Wade, Willis; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald S. and Susan Higgs, Christiansburg; two sisters, Ruby Pickerl, Columbia, S. C.; Opal Simpkins, Pulaski; two brothers, Ray Shelton, Pulaski; Jesse Shelton, Brown Sumit, N. C.; six grandchildren, Gregory Higgs, Jamie Higgs, Laura Phillips, Corey Phillips, Travis Wade, Brittany Wade. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with the Rev. William Farmer officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the Maberry Funeral Home.
