NORTH-BUSH MEETING ACCOUNT IN PROBE FILES

A page from former White House aide Oliver North's notebooks showing a previously undisclosed North meeting with George Bush was provided to the staff of the Senate and House Iran-Contra committees in 1987, but not to the members, Senate officials said Wednesday.

A spokesman for the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, which inherited the records of the investigation, said a search Wednesday showed that the page was in the files without any deletions.

Copies of the pages in North's notebooks, running from December 1983 to late November 1986, were provided to the committees by North's lawyer, Brendan Sullivan, shortly before North's nationally televised testimony.

Senate intelligence committee spokesman Jim Currie said Wednesday that the page was found in the set that North's lawyer had provided Congress. But he added that it was not included in the briefing materials provided to members of the committee as they questioned North.
